Rick has been living in St. George Utah since 2013. He bought his 1st guitar, a 12 string acoustic, in 1969. He purchased books on finger positions & taught himself how to play using basic chords. About 1974 he sold his guitar and did not play again till about the year 2000. His wife found out he once played, so she went out and bought him a guitar. “I had to learn all over again.” In 2004 he had a bad leg injury, which eventually led him to the Lord. Soon joined the church worship team, although very rusty. The team was very forgiving & he played with the band and sang on occasion. He again quit playing in public from about 2008 until about 2015. “I auditioned at SMCC for the worship team. Again, they were very forgiving, put me on the team, and after a couple years they let me sing on occasion.” This is where Rick and Austin (Oakmont Records) made their first connection. “I met some great artists while on the team, and several of them are on this latest CD and also produced it. I currently play an electric hollow body Ibanez, a 12 string acoustic Tayor, an acoustic 6 string Ibanez & harmonica.” He is also a great whistler!
